The department contains 6 divisions:

General Pediatrics, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Immunology and nephrology, Neonatology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric genetics and endocrinology

Pediatrics Division was set up as a subsidiary in Medicine Department in 1966 and elevated as Pediatrics Department in 1975. Aside from general pediatric outpatient clinics offered every working day, we also have specialized outpatient based services on, for example, pediatric pulmonology, neonatology, pediatric cardiology, gastroenterology, rheumatology and immunology, nephrology, asthma and allergy, neurology, hematology, oncology, genetics and endocrine outpatient services, etc. There are also outpatient services for immunization vaccine and preemie follow-up. Aside from general wards for hospitalized children and neonates, we have pediatric and neonate intensive care units to provide critically ill patients with the best healthcare. Pediatric emergency is attended by senior residents and attending physicians round the clock.

Over the past years, we have made outstanding achievements in pediatric medicine innovation in the fields such as pediatric diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy, pediatric and neonatal intensive care and respiratory therapy, congenital heart disorder cardiac catheterization therapy, Kawasaki diseases treatment, HBV prevention, study of allergies in children, kidney disease and peritoneal dialysis therapy, CRRT, various nephritis etiology mechanisms and preemie follow-up. We established a neonate screening center that has screened two thirds of neonates in Taiwan and the only logistic center in the country for provision of special nutrient and drugs to the rare disease children to meet their emergent needs. The pediatric department also has great success and achievement in the field of international medical service.
