The Radiology Department is composed of eight divisions: Cardiopulmonary, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, Pediatric Radiology, Ultrasonography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Approximately, 1,000 to 1,300 examinations are performed each working day, including round-the- clock emergency service. The scope of the examinations, from plain radiography and ultrasonography to MRI, provides a full spectrum of medical imaging necessary to achieve the best radiodiagnosis. The radiologists are also actively involved in many different interventional procedures, either as a main or adjuvant therapy, such as embolotherapy for vascular anomalies, chemo-embolization for various neoplasms, percutaneous angioplasty or stenting for reestablishing vascular patency, percutaneous bypass for biliary or urinary tract obstructions, and sonography or CT-guided aspiration, drainage and biopsy. Academically, the department holds daily meeting and teaching rounds for interns and residents and weekly inter-department grand rounds to discuss or exchange views on up-to-date radiological topics.
